My client are an international, market leading medical device manufacturer. They are implementing more strategic category management processes across their European business, and now require an expert in packaging procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading end-to-end sourcing & procurement of packaging requirements across a European manufacturing portfolio.
• Acting as an effective procurement business partner, to an isolated stakeholder group across the organisation.
• Bring unmandated packaging spend, under the management of procurement using strong relationship building techniques.
• Identifying opportunities for both short and long term successes.
• Success will be measured through:
  • Improved engagement with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Increased % of spend under management
  • Cost savings
  • Supplier performance improvement
  • Decreased risk of delivery failure

Required Experience:

• Strategic procurement and category management background is absolutely essential.
• Expert level knowledge in the packaging category.
• Previous experience working in a life sciences manufacturing environment - pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical devices ideally.
• Ability to lead transformation and build procurement category strategy.
• Ability to operate in a somewhat ambiguous environment (concerning existing processes).

Details:

• Remote-based, UK role with some international travel to locations in Europe.
• Initially a 3 month contract (likely to extend to at least 6 months or beyond)
• Outside IR35
• Between £500-£550 per day
• Start required ASAP!
